TRANSPORT FACILITIES

The Transport facility from which we operate is in Kigamboni, Kibugumo area near Kibugumo Primary School and provides the following facilities:

  • Overnight secure parking with adequate security to protect costly equipment. Pre-loaded vehicles are parked in a designated secure area.
  • Two Wash bay facilities with the necessary effluent provisions to absorb any fuel substances during the process of external washing or internal cleaning.
  • Office and storage facilities to cater for our operational technical requirements.
  • Although the vehicles are maintained by the manufacturer in accordance with maintenance agreements, preventive maintenance is performed at the above facility, as well as keeping stock of essential parts. This ensures minimal delay in the event of breakdowns and technical downtime.
  • Administration offices from where we administer and manage the business as a whole.
  • A training facility has been established which caters for 30 people.

BEHAVIOUR BASED SYSTEM

The World Oil Tanzania Limited Team is currently using a Behaviour Based System called LPS (Loss Prevention System) to prevent and reduce losses throughout our company by positively influencing the behaviour of all persons involved. This is achieved through a process of observation, coaching and communication and by voluntary following safe working procedures. LPS uses behaviour tools and proven management techniques to create a work culture that:

  • To improve Customer Satisfaction, customer requirements, reliability and efficiencies
  • Wireless remote monitoring
  • Creating a safe working environment
  • Reduction in overtime
  • Controlling driver behaviour
  • Assist with Accident/Incident fact finding
  • Reduce abuse of vehicle
  • Control unauthorized stops and deviation from route

Safety is a core value of World Oil Tanzania Limited Tankers and recognized throughout our company as a prerequisite for success by internalizing the motto of understanding, believing and practicing LPS.

Driving Performance is monitored on a consistent basis to improve driver behaviour and attitude. The On Board Computer, FMS200/300 is one of the measuring tools used to monitor driver behaviour performance and to analyse for over-revving, harsh breaking and speed violations. This system is linked to a tag per driver and can also monitor working/driving hours. Minimum requirements are 98%. It is expected from staff to achieve 100% all the time. All vehicles are equipped with DriveCam units that are used to monitor and further enhance driver behaviour.
